Our Story

Matt and Amelia Pocta founded Bald Cypress Builders in January 2020, with a vision to create remodeling experiences that clients would cherish. Starting from their home office in Lexington, SC, they quickly established a name for themselves for quality and reliability.

By 2021, the demand for our unique approach to building and remodeling prompted us to move into our first official office in downtown Lexington. We expanded our team to include skilled professionals who shared our passion for quality craftsmanship and exceptional client service.

With a professional license (RB 49986) and years of hands-on experience in residential building and remodeling, Matt is the cornerstone of our construction efforts. A carpenter by trade and a craftsman at heart, he is constantly immersed in the latest building strategies and technologies. Matt's lifelong commitment to learning and innovation ensures that our clients benefit from the most current industry practices and sustainable building solutions.

Amelia

Co-Founder & Operations Manager

Amelia excels in ensuring seamless operations behind the scenes at our company. With extensive experience in roles that require acute attention to communication and documentation, she acts as the bridge between our builders and clients, ensuring clarity and understanding throughout each project. Her drive for community involvement and impact reflects in every project, enriching our company’s engagement with the local area.

PROJECT MANAGER

As a dedicated Project Manager, Gus is pivotal in driving our projects to completion on schedule and within budget.
